Oh, we are so close to Florida Power Shift! With only 16 days left, we are all working hard to ensure the best event possible. But what would that event be without YOU? That's right! We need you in order for Florida Power Shift to send strong signals to our elected officials that Florida takes climate change seriously and that we demand strong climate legislation. With UN Climate Negotiations starting December 6, we need to send a message, loud and clear: Florida youth will not back down until we have solutions that work for us. That means truly renewable energy like solar, tidal, and wind; it does not mean near-shore drilling and nuclear reactors.
So, what can you do to be a part of this? Well, if you haven't already done so: register! Even better, organize a registration party and invite all of your friends to be a part of this historic event. If you register 15 friends by October 16, you'll get your registration fees waived! Volunteers: There are two ways that you can volunteer for the conference to receive free admission!
1. Before Conference Recruitment Volunteers - anyone who recruits 15 people besides yourself will be eligible for free admission to the conference. You will need to submit the special registrant form completed in all fields for the 15 people. All of those people must be registered and pay $15 either online or by mailing checks to Carly Queen (see address above).
The deadline to submit these forms and payment is October 16th. We will confirm the registrants and follow up with you the following week regarding your free admittance to the conference.
2. During or Post-Conference Volunteers - send your registration information (name, email, phone, address and school/organization) and a $20 check (see above address) by October 16th to secure your spot as a volunteer. Anyone who works for 4 hours during or after the conference will get their registration check back at the end of their shift. If you want to work for 8 hours, you will also receive a free t-shirt. Volunteers will also have access to some tasty refreshments while supplies last!
Group Registration Discount!
For groups of 30 or more, discounted rates are available. Please contact Carly Queen carlyqueen218@gmail.com for more details if you might be interested in registering at the group rate of $15 per person (or buy 30, get 10 free!).
Also contact Carly if you are unable to pay by credit card or wish to register your group all at once. She can help with all your registration questions and needs.

Announce it in your classes, at your organizational meetings, and at parties. Tell everyone you know. Invite folks to the Facebook group and event. Most importantly, have folks register ASAP!
